PETERBOROUGH SUMMER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Every Wednesday and Saturday night during July and August (weather permitting), free outdoor concerts followed by a fireworks display. Concerts to suit all tastes, rock, country, blues, big band, jazz, tribute, gospel, classical, folk, celtic and pop. Up to 5,000 to 10,000 a night spread out their lawnchairs and blankets to watch the show and the crowds and marvel at the fireworks that end every show.

PETROGLYPS PROVINCIAL PARK. 1-416-965-3081. World Heritage Site of pre-historic rock carvings administered by local first nations in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Day use only. Seasonal only although large natural area with many small lakes and a variety of trails can be hiked year round.

INDIAN RIVER REPTILE ZOO. Always a hit with the kids and Dad. Snakes, lizards, geckos, alligators, caymens. Kids like the live demonstrations where they can hold the boa. Picnic area and ponds outside open seasonally.
